Architecture
How the verification chain works.
Three subsystems work in sequence: data ingestion, cryptographic linking, and public verification.
Data Ingestion Layer
Structured API connections to partner measurement providers deliver validated satellite SAR, optical, and LiDAR canopy datasets. Each dataset arrives with a provider signature that becomes the chain's first link.
Cryptographic Linking Engine
Each validation step produces a hash commitment — linked to the previous step's hash. The resulting chain is structurally equivalent to a merkle tree of custody events, readable by any registry or auditor.
Registry Integration API
Co2Pathio's registry API appends chain-of-custody metadata to existing serial structures without replacing them. Eight major voluntary registry formats are currently supported.
Public Verification Lookup
Any buyer, auditor, or counterparty can query a credit's full provenance trail by entering its serial number at the Verification portal — no account required for read access.
Audit-Ready Export
PDF verification certificates, GHG Protocol disclosure packages, and machine-readable JSON exports are generated on demand — formatted for common ESG auditor requirements.
Chain Status Webhooks
Platform subscribers receive real-time webhook notifications when a credit's chain status changes — registry submission, issuance confirmation, or retirement event.

Zero Registry Disruption
No registry workflow changes required. Co2Pathio reads existing serial structures and appends the custody layer without modification.
